Do we need an officiant to elope in Sedona?
Short answer— YES! And it’s one of the most magical ways to do it. Whether it’s just you two, an officiant, and the desert wind, or a symbolic ceremony followed by an adventure session, your day is designed entirely around your love.
Do we need a permit to elope in Sedona?
Yes. The state of Arizona requires a licensed officiant to legally marry you. The good news? Arizona does not require witnesses, making it perfect for intimate elopements. If you’d like recommendations for trusted local officiants who align with your vision, I’m happy to share my favorites.
Can we use the America the Beautiful Pass for our Sedona elopement?
Yes! The America the Beautiful Pass can be used for day-use entry and parking at many federally managed areas around Sedona, such as locations within the Coconino National Forest. However, it does not replace required special use permits for elopements or professional photography. I’ll help you understand when the pass applies, where it’s accepted, and what additional permits may be needed for your specific location.
